Location: Southland District, Invercargill or Winton based

Are you passionate about empowering young people to achieve their full potential? The Mayors Task Force for Jobs is dedicated to creating meaningful employment pathways for youth, helping them build strong foundations for successful futures.

We’re seeking a motivated Youth Employment Coach to join our supportive, close-knit team as we continue to make a real difference across Southland.

What You’ll Do

• Work one-on-one with young people from diverse backgrounds, providing guidance and practical support.
• Equip youth with essential work-ready skills, including CV writing, interview preparation, and confidence-building coaching.
• Connect with local employers to identify opportunities and successfully place clients into sustainable employment.
• Organise engaging events and facilitate small group workshops that inspire and inform.
• Advocate for young people, ensuring they access the resources and support they need to thrive.
• Maintain accurate client and employer databases, ensuring all information is current, well-organised, and fit-for-purpose.
• Track outcomes, progress, and engagement so meaningful reporting can be produced as required.
• Proactively manage follow-ups and administration to support strong results and accountability.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience working with youth and a genuine commitment to their success.
• Strong networking and relationship‑building skills, preferably with experience in employment placement and job search support.
• A highly organised, proactive self‑starter who takes ownership and is driven to achieve results.
• Confidence working with databases, systems, and reporting requirements, with strong attention to detail.
• A collaborative approach and positive attitude - teamwork is essential to our success!
• Full driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Southland.
